Quick update! I removed the UVA light and put it on Karmas terrarium. The temps became to high in the tortoise terrarium and Karmas terrarium needed better light for the plats. PERFECT SWITCH! :)

I’m so glad to see you got the proper UV fixture and bulb. I’d be careful with using sand in a tortoise enclosure. I’ve seen many instances where it’s caused impaction from getting stuck to the tortoises food. I have found it’s best to keep the initial substrate you had moistened and packed down and then use a 2 inch or so thick layer reptile bark or orchid bark (also known as fir bark) on top. It’ll be easier for the baby tortoise to walk on and a lot less messy. What you’ve read about humidity is true. Especially as babies they should be kept at higher humidity...the 70% you said would be ok. This helps to prevent pyramiding and helps keep them hydrated. Small babies like yours can dehydrate so fast. Additionally they should be soaked in warm water for at least 15 minutes per day. It’ll help keep them hydrated and also encourages their digestive system to keep moving. Little Tank is so cute! I look forward to watching this little guy grow.
