I have the gen2 m12 drill and impacter. I bought both the 2.5 ho and 5.0 ho batteries. I have nothing but respect for those 5ah ho batteries. They've turned the drill into a beast. The impacter allready was but i don't like using the m12 impacter as its so loud! I have an m18 surge impactor and its much less noisy than everything else.

I have all the batteries but tend to prefer the ho 2.5s. Seems to be the best of both worlds

I was literally searching for a 4.0 thinking it was better than the 5.0 Ho at Home Depot about a week ago so I got on YouTube to see test and I went with the 5.0 for my m12 3rd gen impact love it !

I work for a data center and we use these everyday to work on equipment that weighs well over 1, 500 pounds and my co worker has the high output battery on his unpacks and it makes the equipment jump up they’re so powerful

Surge can barely remove my lug nutt with 2.0. Maybe with a HO battery it can.
It took only 10 lug nuts at around 80-90ft/lb to drain a 2.0 battery. lol.

For home use the 2.0 is more than sufficient

The h.o. batteries are a game changer for m12, especially the 2.5. My 4 and 6ah go to my wet vac now and 2.5's and 5's run my power tools

Sir, could you do the lag test for kobalt xtr? Thanks

It’s cool that the HO is 1+ secs faster but for the additional weight and cost I’d stick with the CP version.

Anyone know how much more torque the M12 Surge has using High output battery?

The 450 torque number is too low compared with 1500 of 3453. But if the HO 5.0 can increase torque to like 600 or so, then that would be great.

I just hope that the 450 max torque was not calculated using High Output.
