2003 Range Rover Starting Problems

2003 4.4 HSE RR has trouble starting. Doesn't seem to be a fuel pump issue as I started it yesterday? I ordered a crankshaft position sensor and am curious if you guys think it might be that as well? (pardon my flip flops haha)

sorry for the late response its your fuel pump and filter need to be replaced under the back seat lift up the carpet.

Do you fix the problem ?I have the same thing on my Rover y recently changed my fuel pump and continue with the same problem

I had the same problem, and I was told to replace the crank sensor and fuel pump or relay. But the I found out that the small black piece that is fixed inside the car key was removed by my son thinking it was a broken piece. I then fixed it inside the key and the car started with no problem.

I have exactly the same problem! It’s isnt the fuel pump or the crank shaft position sensor (i changed both) did you solve it??

is not that the key is un-programmed? i had a similar issue with my toyota land cruiser because my key got wet, then i have to reset my key, and it worked.

How did you fix this issue? Did you need a new key, have to reprogram the key, or have the dealership "resync" or relearn the immobilizer code to the engine ecu? Thanks for sharing this and I'm quite interested in how this worked out for your Range Rover!

Under post #7 it has a picture of the fuel pump relay. I simply only had to move one out for the other and it fixed my problem. I switched the #5 with #2 and I haven't had problems since. And I ordered another relay, you can find them for about $10. I was stoked it fixed it.

what a shitty car that you can put the key in stat position and stay there until the starter burns out i would suggest unplug the battery for a few seconds its probably a computer glitch not reading the RFID transponder in the key could be radio interference try unplug battery For 15 seconds leave it unplugged put key in ignition anx turn to on to discharge all capacitors in the ECU plug the battery back in and try starting also check your fuel injector fuse
