Samuel Hayden was one of my favorite things in this game. Unbelievably badass. The lore texts about him that you find are insane, definitely worth a read.

"Did you got the sword?" "Good, that's one less loose end." and stab Doomguy.

To be fair he's right, he wasnt the villain.
Samuel is just a guy who got caught up in someone else's shit.
(Olivia's plan to use the Argent energy to open the gates to Hell.)

He was only using Hell's unlimited energy to help fuel research and to provide a clean source of power for Earth's technology.
Obviously the UAC isn't full of saints but Hayden was somewhat a diamond in the rough.
