I think it would be so super cute if we still had tails, but with muscle and nerve endings unlike the birth defect which is usually limp. Heres my weird thing i wish evolution had allowed us, GILLS of some sort, so we could breath underwater. I'm obsessed with the ocean and sharks and coral reefs and you literally cant get me out of the ocean once i go in (i live by the beach) So i wish i could go swimming underwater and breath.

A tail would be quite cool. I don't even get why we don't have that (anymore). It helps to balance, you can even grab stuff with it and do other things like that. It sounds like a pretty useful thing. Maybe it's because we lose less heat like this, but come on... Then cover it with some fabulous fur evolution!

Maybe this video is before they discovered it, but the appendix is actually to replenish bacterium that is lost. Whenever an individual doesn't appropriately absorb water (aka diarrhea), many bacterium are washed away and then lost. To compensate, the appendix, which has a reservoir of bacteria in it, flexes to eject the bacterium back into the cecum. I learned this in Anatomy this semester, maybe it's new?

When humans are born with a tail, is it just like dead skin hanging there? Does it wag? Is it controllable? Does it have any bones?
