Slight addition regarding the discussion and keeping it going - this year, the mobile game Dissidia Opera Omnia had a global first release (before Japan) of one of their highest tier weapons. The character who got it was Garnet

They actually did the anime and movie for FF15. Also FF7 had a couple of anime movies as well if I recall

That's a good point. The Kingdom Hearts 4 being on the Nvidia leak was the biggest thing in my mind that held it back, felt like just hopeful speculation so soon after 3. Now it still might be 10 years for it to come out but the fact its announced puts way more weight on the leak. So I'm still optimistic it's a real thing. I'm anxious to see something.

I really hope tha consit the FF9 remake (if it comes) won't be such a mess as FF7R, because that game will be finished in like 20 years considering the speed of the current progress. And I also hope that SE won't let Nomura anywhere near that project.

I'm cautiously optimistic about an FFIX remake. I'd love like, more Tantalus shenanigans could be a great thing to explore early on for example. On the flip side, even without a COVID hampered development/release cycle FFIX Episodic would take forever and to me make it possible hype dies down to the point where SE doesn't finish it or gets absorbed, or any other number of reasons we don't see it completed

we can't deny that they tend that mentality of doing one to three major titles at once, but recently even with those thousand of employees on hand. it still tend to give the bare minimum that is kinda sad. i just wish sometime they can just focus on two games max atleast but oh well, need to impress those investors.

FF7 Remake made sense as you could tell in the og game if they could've made the graphics more realistic they would have. FF9 is not the same. Its art style made it perfect for the PS1. It was perfect for its medium, and major graphical upgrades wouldn't really enhance it that much IMO, especially if they add cringey voice acting...

Waiting for Final Fantasy Tactics remaster for a really long time.
Couldn't play The War of the Lions because I don't have PlayStation Portable and mobile version just not for me - prefer to play game on PC or PlayStation.
