Vampire nocturnus release is a perfect example of hedging your bets. I loaded up on that card and traded for it every time I saw it in a trade binder. No one wanted a vampire lord cause there was no vampire support at the time. I remember seeing the spoiled art work for Sorin Markov, without even knowing what it did, and knew vampires would be supported in the next set. Made me a ton of money.

Well said on that dry powder comment. The LotusGrind has a cash and card component of the collection, you need some cash for opportunity (for me it’s more random buys). And yes, rotate cards into the RL for sure!

Full art borderless gold stamped signed black and white art card lands are gonna be hot cards. They only come in Crimson vow and midnight hunt set boxes and both of those are basically done. Double feature means neither set will get a reprint before going OOP. Double feature was the reprint for both midnight hunt and crimson vow. Filling a 360 card binder takes a little over $1, 000, 000 in sealed being opened and all the art card stamped lands going directly onto the market.

And I've been buying a few uncommon from kamigawa
Settle with reality I think is the name of the first and discover the impossible is the second
And yeah theres also better ones
But I honestly believe these cards will end up being insanely good in the future

Brothers war and dominaria United come out this year and I know for a fact brothers war will be very artifact centric

You are talking about trying time the market. If you wait for set release information that’s a year out from release, for example, there are no angels in new capenna. So buying angels based on capenna coming into the fold in the future is timing the market gone wrong. Timing the market always has inherent risks. That’s why I buy cards based on their potential to get better. Like shooting fish in a bucket with a shot gun, you are gonna hit a couple fish almost every time.

Instead of spending 50+ bucks on almost pure speculation on hoards of cards, buy a singular good condition card from sets that have a scarce supply and will inevitably go up like Alpha, Beta, or Portal Three Kingdoms English. This advice really isn't against the grain. Your strategy can also work, but the risk is much higher, but then again the multiplier for it to go up is also much harder. Just know you will probably lose out most of the time versus safer but less exciting long term gains. Your way is probably more fun, though. Just remember appreciation mostly goes to the top value cards.
