You have to buy the correct $9 adaptor through Apple . Stores
Don’t have them in stock . It looks similar to the one that comes with the Apple Pencil but one is for charging only and the other is for data transfer . Yes 😂 Apple has gone crazy with all these stupid attachments

Doesn’t work. I like how he says reboot the tablet but never does it to show it actually works. Mine will not connect to the gen1 pencil even after reboot

Hey wanted to let everyone know that the dongle linked is not the one he has in the video. I was confused and thought he linked the one he has, but he linked the off brand dongle that is like the one usually included with Apple Pencil 1st gen that you will use the wire with to connect.

I’ve figured it out everyone!! After my second hour on the phone with Apple support- the dongle that is provided with the gen 1 Apple Pencil is ONLY for charging. You will see a lightning to usb-c. The $9 one looks exactly the same but it is usb-c to usb-c and THATS what will make your iPad recognize it

Didn’t work for me. I tried restarting the iPad, changing the nib, turning bluetooth on and off, updating the OS and a few other tricks and this brand new iPad 10 won’t recognize the brand new pencil. What a waste. I’m waiting for support to call me

Make sure you show both ways of doing the pairings and individually I still don’t know how to pair my ipencil up without that special dongle. Do I need both cable and dongle or just the dongle or will just the cable work?

ATTENTION!!! In some cases the regular IPhone cable does not work while connecting the Apple pencil to the IPad 2022. To solve this problem, use a different cable to connect your Apple Pencil.❤

Hi, so apple pen comes with an adapter. Use the iPad cable to connect it and it will work. If it’s not tighten the tip of the pencil and it will work.

No need to buy extra stuff ! The Apple Pencil comes with 2 dongles : one compatible with USB-C and the other one with Lightning. Simply connect your iPad via its charging cable to one end of the (USB-C) dongle and then connect your pencil to the other end. That's it !
