You asked for Mercury Retrograde experiences so here goes…I was deep into treatment for cancer when my Dad died, but was in charge of his services. My Dad was a WWII veteran having served 4 1/2 years in the Pacific Theater setting up equipment in the front lines. I planned through a funeral director and Mercury was retrograde. My chart is ruled by Mercury, having Gemini Rising. The day of the services at Fort Ripley, Minnesota, we were all gathered, I was all bloated from my treatments, waiting for the preacher to arrive. He got lost and was 1/2 hour late. Then when it came to doing the honors the local VFW performed the services and I had specifically asked for the Fort Ripley honor guard. Because of both of these conditions the funeral director told me there would be no charge for their services.

I just looked up when Mercury entered its pre-retrograde shadow before this current retrograde and it was 24 hours before the Crowd Strike update that caused all the computer and flight issues around the world. I’m a Virgo sun, Gemini rising and tend to feel the retrogrades coming on. I get more easily frustrated, miscommunication and lack of control. Also more internal conflict and indecisiveness during those times. But learning to try to flow with it.

I would like to share my experience here. I have Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius in my natal chart and a few years ago I realized that these periods are the best for me. When the rest of the world complains that everything is going backwards, everything flows better for me, in an exciting and even thrilling way. It's wonderful. Today, for example, I found out that I was offered a new job and I'm very happy. I'm really curious to know if other people with Mercury retrograde natally feel the same way, I haven't seen many people talking about it!

I just now found out there was an unexpected delay in processing some important financial paperwork due to an error my bank made in 2022. As it turns out this error was in my favour as a separate error was made by me (recently) which would have been even more costly.
The net result is that going over past documents carefully has benefited me in the long run. So thank you Mercury retrograde!

A few years ago I experienced a Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn and it was amazing for setting up goals for the next year. It set up a really good period of time for me and I was able to move forward into a position at my job that paid more. I kind of love Mercury Retrograde because it gives me time to slow down and focus on important parts of my life. This time, I'm really taking another look at self-care routines (Virgo), creativity/downtime (Leo) and since it is in my 4th house, strengthening my foundation.

Great video! I remember I travelled abroad for the first time in 5 years during a retrograde and I was so determined to be prepared for any delays and made sure I had travel insurance etc. So travelling to my destination was great and i had two flights there, but when I was returning, waiting to catch my last flight, i checked where my luggage is as I had put a airtag in and saw that my luggage was stuck in the previous airport. So I made calls etc and onces I got home it took two weeks for my luggage to get delivered back to me which was quick ... Just when I thought I had a smooth travel the mercury in retrograde had other plans 😂

Because of Mercury Retrograde at Christmastime 2023, it was a "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" (good 1980s comedy w/ John Candy) one for me- so when I finally got to my destination we watched it. The Mercury retrograde was still in effect on my return home, so I left a lot of extra time, (that I did need when I found out there was no record of the ticket I had purchased) to sort things out at the airport and remain calm. Always leave extra time when traveling during Mercury Retrograde I've learned. I'm consciously sitting out this August cluster f**k of mutable planets hitting each other combined with this Mercury Retrograde- for me it seemed like my best option- spend some quality time reflecting and reevaluating before making any moves at the end of the month. I'm SO grateful to Chris for stepping up to be our leader on this astrology quest- I love that little Scorpio quip, "It makes me suspicious" We are in good hands with Chris.

I am a stellium Pisces with a Gemini moon. Mercury gone retro usually effects me enormously. I have needed to find a way to center myself when it occurs. For me I have found a combination of a couple of days of fasting and upping my meditation sessions renews me enough to more easily deal with this experience. So far I have had a car that is acting petulant, a bathroom sink that has required a plumber, a dog who is having health issues. All within the last 3 days...I think that these cycles of Mercury simply uncover hidden problems and force you to deal with them NOW. The benefit is clearing the way for a smoother experience when it's over.
