LOG HOPPING TECHNIQUES
Just ride over is the most basic followed by The slapper, our coach Birchy's wheelie strategy. You can also use the log as a kicker (static & moving) then next would be the Punch for hopping over logs. Using the bashplate (with wheelie) is an easy one, and at the same learn the Recovery from bashplate technique. Some trials ones? The Double blip, the Double blip with zap and an old favourite the Pivot turn.

Cross training log hops blend trials and enduro techniques so these enduro training vids feature many dirt riding skills and trials techniques for better off road riding and getting over logs.

These log vids provide insights on how to ride over vids through free enduro training vids, featuring riding techniques from Chris Birch, Graham Jarvis and other top extreme enduro riders to form the concept of cross training. Subscribe to this Youtube channel for enduro techniques, endurocross training and dirt bike skills.

What is the common feature of all the world's best extreme enduro riders who hop logs well? They are all former trials champions who applied who have applied trials techniques to their dirt riding skills to tackle some of the world's toughest extreme enduro events... and logs!

Trials riding may not appear to share much with dirt riding - much of the action happens at walking speed - but the balance, precise, traction and clutch skills help with enduro riding, especially for hard enduro. The growing interest in extreme enduro led to an upsurge in trials riding riding internationally, and many dirt riders are now joining trials clubs to improve their overall technique for basic dirt riding and getting over logs.

I do not know what you did before you was retired, however, you are a great teacher. This channel will live and grow long after you stop making and uploading videos because the quality of content is unmatched. Looking forward to all the videos you haven't made yet!

I've been watching your vids ever since I bought my 2010 WR250 a year ago, I've quietly been practicing most of what you've covered, log hopping, cornering, keeping momentum up hills and going as slow as possible to learn how to balance properly. Last weekend I went riding with a group of guys with awesome brand new bikes and much to my surprise I found I not only kept up with them but made it through some of the gnarlier parts better than they did. I just wanted to say a big thanks, it really isn't the bike but how you ride it, on the flat the New bikes - KTM XC, YZX and RMZ zoomed past but I overtook them in the snotty stuff. Cheers!

great videos. Thanks! I've been trying these techniques and buildiing an enduros track to practice on here in NY. someone asked about weighting and de-weighting. first of all set your suspension soft, then exaggerate putting weight on the forks like your jumping on a pogo stick. hit the front brake hard and push down all the way and that should give you the feel of full compression on the forks. for deweighting just lean back exactly like Jarvis pop the clutch and nail the throttle.

You forgot number 11, my favourite. Stack the bike a few times while trying to get over it, rage quit and throw the bike down, finally, use the knuckle dragger technique of turning the bike off, lay it on it's side and skull dragging it over, then resume your normal riding position.

As always - Fantastic. And a heartfelt thanks for sharing your learning with the rest of us. With the levels of skills you and the mates have reached you are however breaking away from the pack and thats a bit demotivating. I would therefore urge you to share your developmental journey in a video where you compile the phases you have been through in getting to the current skill level. Just to pick up those of us who now struggle to see your fender in the dust. Thanks a bunch.

I have to work on my log hops. I think lofting the wheel with the clutch release, without going full wheelie is my biggest downfall.

Great training vid!
