Silky's are great, I have six in various sizes including the tiny f180 and the mammoth KatanaBoy. Only thing about them is the blades can snap with push cutting so strictly pull cut only. I've snapped two blades over the years and they're not covered by warranty ever due to it always being deemed user error.

Good choice on the jg3/armatus combo, I run that blade on my qvo wingman appendix holster.

I actually have the bg pro knife as well. The steel isn't impressive (imo), and a BG logo on anything scares me.... *but*, so far it hasn't been a bad knife. For what it is. I definitely didn't like the first one, but I think this one was alright. I think its a decent knife for beginners that are just now getting into the whole genre.
I wouldn't pay $100 for one, but if someone can get one cheap enough...ehhh..well I guess thats up to them.
Will be interested in your findings though for sure.

I say just use the budget knives and find their pros and cons. Then go for broke with them.

Silky makes great saws, but I went for a Lowe's Razortooth ($20). It is a great saw, so much better than the Coleman I was using. Don't buy Coleman, they can be dangerous. The blade lock slips out.

Good stuff, Jacob. You're going to feel naked in Commiefornia....LOL. Wish you could find what you need somewhere else instead of supporting CA with $. I bet you do, too. It continues to amaze me how many CA and NY companies manufacture things that are against the law to use in CA and NY. I know Weatherby finally got a belly full and is moving out of CA.

Please tell Joshua thanks for his service and congrats on graduating basic!

Could you maybe model the knife after the Kabar warthog? Lol

That’s not a saw!! Just kidding. But seriously, have you seen the Silky that Lonnie uses on Far North Bushcraft? Freakin huge. They make some big saws.
