Fun fact: the flail is actually a trash weapon. You lose alot of force in the chain when you hit. However, in medieval times there are some accounts of knight's using flails in duels. The best reason we could infer is that it was a taunt. Like a "im so much better than you, ima beat you with this shitty ass weapon". Which i 100% could see humans bringing that energy to a duel xD
