This is extremely useful. This shot comes up ALL THE TIME!

I love pool content like this. Awesome cueball motion visualization stripe as well.

You sir are way better than I. Although I watch the best in the world and they always take the simple straight angles and table flow. BTW by no means am I saying it's not a great way to get out of certain situations but playing to get to the end the of rack I prefer a more straightforward approach. To each his own. The main thing I think is to be open minded.

Top right is also an option if you have traffic (playing 8 for example), but that requires a more precise hit and doesn’t come into shape zone nicely like the outside draw. I’ve told players to be comfortable with both options depending on the lie of other balls.

I would of put a slight touch of screw on the cue ball and depending on whether or not the baize had any nap, I'd also put a small amount of check side on it to slow it down off the baulk cushion. Suffice to say the simplest shot is the best shot as there is less risk.

Usually can only shoot this shot when you are low on balls due to amount of travel. Great shot to know. Just my opinion

How about practice both just because you might have to. Both shot have a possibility of going bad.

I seem to always scratch in the top left from over doing the draw

Any objection to just playing the one rail with a quarter to half tip left added to the follow?

It can be useful but can also pose it's own problem. Truth is there is a few different ways to gain position on the 8 and you should know them all.

Bold of you to assume my table has good enough cloth and bumpers to bounce 3 times

I feel like that table has a slope..which is why the cue ball got hooked

Or, better yet, don't get stuck in that position.

If the table is crowded, play inside short lines, if the table is empty, play outside runs off the rails.

When you get good, play center, and run rails. I've went 5 cushions on the 3 ball. Then never touched a rail for the rest of the rack.

No..not with this angle.. your fisrt idea is better in 2 rails with a following right spin.. this is easier to play a following shot than a draw shot..
