Should you have thought of changing the overdrive filter? Just wonder as I am doing the same in my 1989 volvo760

Hello. In the owner's manual for my Volvo 940 D24TIC with M46 gearbox it says to add 2.6 liters of type G ATF, but I can't find "type G" anywhere. Any advice? Every how many kilometers or years do you change it? My 940 is 30 years old and 70, 000 miles and has the original box oil.

Did it today - great trick with the hose if you dont have jacks. How much acceptable metal should be on the magnet ?
