tbf, I do believe Magnus has a point. Not because I am a Magnus fan, I think everyone is a Magnus fan. Here Magnus has no proof, but he is convinced enough.
But not to forget, if Hans is a cheat and remains unproven, it will become a threat to the game of chess.
Also, don't forget how Magnus appreciates other kids like prag, Arjun, AF, etc. He doesn't blame after losing. So, pleople saying Magnus is just pissed, should shut up.
He doesn't have any proof, but he knows the truth. That's why it absolutely makes sense of him to resign the games. At least he didn't force chess24 to cancel Hans. He is clear about what he thinks.

The only thing which is lacking is the proof.

I think Carlsen had some condition in his contract that says he has to play all tournament to get his paycheck. So he played one move against player he did not want to play at all and resigned. It is not clear what his goal is, perhaps he wants organizers not to invite Niemann on top tournaments where he is playing. Incidents like that are not good for tournament, organizers certainly dont want it to happen. But rumors are World Champions made such demands to organizers before : "If player X is playing, I am not playing in your tournament !"

But story is not over yet. What if Carlsen and Niemann will meet in knockout stage ? Will Carlsen play one move in each game in their minimatch and resign then ? Or will he withdrew altogether like in St Louis ?
Looks like he wants to make a statement and most likely he just does not want to play against young American any more, no matter what . And who can force him ?

The more time passes, the more circumstantial evidence is found that Hans Niemann very probably cheated in normal chess as well. I already found it striking that Hans Moke didn't win any game after the time-delayed broadcast in St. Louis. As already pointed out, the performance of Hans Moke in online broadcast presence tournaments in the last three years was compared with that without DGT board broadcast. With several hundred points of performance difference a blatant drop in performance is noticeable. To all chess fans who continue to defend the young US grandmaster and vilify the world champion, allow me to ask whether they have studied probability theory in mathematics. On the You-Tube channel of the Ukrainian FM Andrii Punin with name Chess Fan MWP it is shown that Niemann played the first recommendations of older computer programs like Rybka and Stockfish 11. IM Atle Grønn commented in the newspaper Dagbladet: In normal games the US-American mostly played according to his ranking, but in especially important games Niemann played almost unbelievably precise and above his conditions. In some of the games he analyzed, Niemann played rows and rows of computer moves at a time and didn't allow himself a mistake. That's hard to believe - especially since these were important games in which the pressure on the youngster was particularly high.

Magnus Carlsen simply gives up after the first move in the Julius Baer Generations Cup, going offline and pouring more fuel on the fire. This isn't a witch hunt, though, but a strong statement against a cheater with a big mouth. The World Champion, like his Norwegian compatriot, is sure that from a chess perspective it's not possible to play like that and the probability of it happening is close to zero, even if many chess fans believe in the good in two-time cheater Hans Moke Niemann.
