Mavic 3 or Inspire 2 for $5000| - Which would you choose

Great points and why you can't compare the Inspire Pro drone line to the Prosumer line such as the Mavic 3. The fact that the Mavic is a fixed camera aircraft is huge difference in capability. I think there are many who'd like to believe that the Mavic sensor size makes it a pro level drone consumate with the price. But that is marketing not logic.. I agree, $5000 dollars provides so many more options than a fancy controller. I brought the Mavic 3 standard and an extra battery for $2500 and a compatible bag for $27 dollars.. which also holds all my DSLR equipment... The other $2500 is in the bank! Great review and perspective!

Very good points, I bought the standard version and haven’t even flown it yet 😁. You’d have thought the Mavic 3 would have had the heated batteries and the ability to fly in the rain for that price like the inspire 2. I agree for that price I’d take the Inspire 2 as well. Great video 👍

Everything you said makes a lot sense. Why would you buy an expensive toy when you have a professional drone already. On my live streams I did talk about all the negative things about getting an Mavic 3 and it is not worthy $2000 the Cine version. On HUGE problem is the propellers may show up and filming against the sun the horrible green flares shows up. But I don’t stop here, people are blinded and they don’t see that the Mavic has a crap lens, the video definition is low, the Evo 2 Pro 6k in witch you can buy used for around 800 and up has a better video quality and it is 2 years old drone. The work flow of the Mavic 3 is a nightmare and if you drop this drone say good buy to your time and money. People do not understand how cameras work and how to use them, they come out with so many BS in YouTube to justify buy this expensive toy. And when I hear people say the Hasselblad camera on the Mavic 3 it shows how marketing can get people buy any crap. You can create the color grading in post of the Hasselblad and save $2000 right there.

Well said! My thoughts too. I decided to buy an Inspire 2 in December 2021, even though it is an older drone it still has more capability then the Mavic 3. I would love to had got the Mavic 3 just because it was the latest. But I find that my inspire 2 still has a lot of diversity.

You're making me feel very good about my purchase of the Inspire 2 with X5S and lots of accessories, including 5 sets of batteries. Less than 5k back in June of last year, and I just added the battery station last month. If I have access to AC power, I can basically fly continuously, landing only for battery changes and to swap SD cards.

Adding any equipment should be viwed as whether or not it can generate some revenue. Great that you put the reality check view out there. The M3 is still an unfinished product.

Thanks. I’ve been looking for a drone and scored YouTube for information. Many talk about everything from the cameras to the drones, but I appreciate the on the level comparison from an end user discussion on where it sits compared to other drone options. Thanks, you helped me make up my mind. My final choice is the Inspire 2. As I write this, the Inspire 3 is hitting the shelves and though I am sure it’s going to be on heck of a drone, it means that the Inspire 2 prices are not only going to come down, but many people are going to sell their #2s to buy #3 and I selected a DJI FPV VR to plan the routes, camera angles and dry runs that can match the speed and more and follow the route using gps. It’s gonna be fun!😁

I agree that the cine has workflow issues. Have tested. The prores handles motion better than h265, but I went with the fly more because of workflow, H265 is great and the price makes more sense. Despite the premature release, never have i fell in love with a drone as fast as the mavic 3. Its the sweet spot. For me at least

I did exactly this a few days after I saw how ‘disappointing ’ the mavic 3 ‘looked’. My inspire 2 was sub $2k inc 6 batteries and crystalsky and hardcase. AMAZING !

I brought the base package, Mavic 3 along with an extra battery, polar pro ND filters and polarizers. I can make that work. I plan on buying the wide angle lens that attached to it as well. It is 15 mm wide. That should work for me.

The video quality of the inspire 2 is noticeably better than the mavic 3 even though the sensor are similar. The lenses make a tremendous difference. Also the cinemadng footage is ridiculously good.

I’ve got the X7 with a 24mm & 50mm lens on my Inspire 2. The quality is just amazing and the 2 controller option is just fabulous. No need for a Mavic 3 for me.

I would prefer to have inspire2 if it would have 3 blades propellers on it to extend its flying capacity longer on the other hand Mavic is only for kids toys.
