I visited this place twice and totally enjoyed it. I rode both trains. As I am a European this is every bit an experience. On one occasion there was a steam engine event. The other time a reenactment of the civil war. Also quite enjoyable.

Nice review. Thanks for visiting!
There is much much more to Roaring Camp than you knew or explained.
I suggest that people read about the place before arriving. The types of geared locomotives in operation, the spiral trestle, the beginnings of the place, the Mark Twain story, the SAME family owner and operator since opening. The conductor narrates the ride and can answer almost any question.

EVERY child loves this place, 3 through 12 will be enamored, and always will hold a place in their heart for whom brought them here.
Yes, the tickets appear to be costly for some. You will enjoy this life experience.
Standing beside a live locomotive, peering into the firebox, the sounds, vibrations, smells, a fully encompassing experience. Ask about the engine house, sometimes a friendly mechanic will let you see things working.

Go AGAIN, ride the desiel electric locomotive to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk!
Read about their Moonlight dinner train!
AND music venue events!
Spring through early fall, a wedding booked almost every Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Midweek are less crowded.

I'm grateful for videos like this because I am terrified of bridges. I will probably never visit but still happy to see it this way! Love the duckie!! I'm a sucker for a good store.

This video is a great help for anyone considering visiting the Roaring Camp Railroad this summer! I appreciated the comprehensive overview of the train ride and mention of handicap accessibility. My partner and I already booked our tickets :)

9:08 This lovely Douglas Fir (not a Redwood!) would be a teenager if it were human.

Heyo! I started working here about two weeks after this video was uploaded, so it's been a little over a month so far, and I'm enjoying it. Glad you stopped by and enjoyed it. I have some suggestions for anyone who wants to come by: book in advance to guarantee you a spot on the train, try out the gold panning ($10 per pan, unless you get 4, then it's $25 total), and if you are planning on taking the 10 am beach train, get the 5-hour layover—you get more bang for your buck. If you’re getting food at Georgie's, get the grilled chicken sandwich—it's good.
