When I was a kid, I had an argument with my imaginary friend Sally. My mom “kicked her out” and told me she lived at McDonald’s now

“Why can’t she be a person?”
“because she’s only 14 and can’t be a person” 14 year olds aren’t real guys

As I was watching this I was reminded of a Japanese ghost that I read about called Ubume, which roughly translates into “woman in late pregnancy.” The story says that when a woman dies around her childbirth she is unable to pass on because of anxiety for her child. They appear only at night and look like a woman carrying a child, a pregnant woman, or a bloody corpse with a fetus. They wander areas near to where they died and are very sweet to young children and look after them/protecting them. And of course, them being a traditional Japanese yokai (ghost) they have black hair.

I had a few imaginary friends.

One was John, and he lived in my head. Had an armchair and everything. He was after my family, and wanted to replace me. Liked to insult me for my ears.

Turns out I am schizophrenic. Go figure.

chances are it’s just her weird imagination, when i was younger i had an imaginary friend called Heart who had no eyes and who’s entire family died in a fire, and i turned out okay-ish.

"This is my imaginary mum, Grateful."
Aw...
"She has two babies in her belly."
Oh...?
"She is 14..."
OH-

From the way the kid talks, Grateful is just an ordinary imaginary friend, not something she's actually seen. My niece uses the same cadence when she's playing with her dolls or pretending to read her books. Kids have such great imaginations! I'd have never thought of glowing eyelashes for seeing in the dark!

"She's 14, she can't be a person"
I'm 14 but I'm soon 15
Can't wait to be a real person

Kids have really weird imaginations, and they pick up way more adult conversations than people think.

I have a big, big hunch this is just a marketing stunt from the magazine.

lol it's like these people have never spoken to children before. Their imaginations run wild all the time. They'll come up with anything. It's rather impressive to see how creative a kid's mind is, but also how nonsensical.

I had an imaginary friend named “Joyce” once, she had the height of a 7-year-old with a clean white dress and long, straight hair. She appeared at any time of day, mostly when I felt sad or in the mood to play. But my parents told me I often go near a pitch-black room, open the door and start having a conversation with her. It doesn’t creep me out even if she was a ghost, she was quite nice.

But what is the _yellow jellybean_ floating between its legs in the drawing?

This is one of the first Twitter horror things that has genuinely interested and scared me in some way. It spares the attempt at a creepy atmosphere and making everything cool and edgy.

i had an imaginary friend when i was about 5 and lived in new orleans... his name was dot. His name was dot because he had 3 dots on his chest and a dot on his forehead...i now realize they were bullet holes

Edit: I also remember that he told me that he was in the army, which would explain it even more. I always wondered why i was so interested in the military.

I never had an imaginary friend until 3rd grade. My friends and me got into a small fight but in the week we were fighting, a young boy always would come next to me on the swings and sit there with me. When recess was over he would go out the other door and I wouldn't ever see him in school.

It turns out that two siblings died in my elementary school. I don't know the exact details but it still creeps me out.
