As a Dutchie, what I appreciate most about english commentators is that they always try to sound neutral. Even when their own country has conceded a goal, they'll still say things like: "Oh what a terrific header." or "What an astonishing goal!". You could watch this game in England supporing the dutch with this commentary and feel like you were watching it in the Netherlands. Meanwhile the dutch commentators would be so biased (and I don't blame them) that they would downgrade the other team's accomplishment, even though they scored. When I'm watching this game in the Netherlands it really feels like you're watching it from one certain perspecitve. That isn't a feeling I get when I'm watching the same game with english commentary. Anyway what I wanted to say was this: England, you truly are the inventors of football. Because your commentators aren't just reporting it to the english fans, they're reporting it to the world.

2 Teams in a similiar phase of development. Could have swung either way. Netherlands were better on the day and 3 - 1 is a fair score for the chances the Dutch created (30 shots to 13) better luck next time England.
