GPH Students Visit the NYU Urban Farm

Students in the public health nutrition program took a trip to the NYU Urban Farm Lab, an outdoor classroom and community farm. Students were given a tour with farm manager and Steinhardt adjunct food studies instructor Melissa Metrick. They learned how urban agriculture is connected to the larger urban food system and how to use sustainability to combat food insecurity and climate change, and they gained an understanding of the importance and public health implications of urban farming.
