The Amish/Mennonite people from all over (Penn to Mo) were the ones to go to the Hurricane Helene ridden areas were there from clean up, bring food and also helped rebuild some homes. Just thought I'd through it there as people do not look for kudos but certainly deserve it.

my camellia blooms like CRAZY because of my banana peels and coffee grounds. SO many flowers from top to bottom you can barely see any leaves. Before I used these 2 items the plant was staying at a foot tall and sparse - now it's over 9 feet tall. Great video. Thanks.

This is not necessarily stuff Amish do but rather I've seen it from other YouTube gardening channels. I used to be Amish and a lot of these things are not things we would have done.

Been doing this for generations in various countries from Wales UK to wherever. But I'm happy to have this information on YouTube for many to see and use. All good stuff. Thank you Amish for using natural methods too 👍😊

I purchased 10 acres in Belize in October and will be doing something similar to you. I'll be off grid, using solar and a water well. I'm very excited and can't wait. I move down full time next week. I'll be using some of your tricks and tips. THank you.

If you are in the southern hemisphere, plant the sunflowers in the south of the garden. We already harvest rainwater in Australia for our home water supply. We have no reticulated water in our town.

I used a series of small to medium buckets in collecting scrap n allow to rot covered for about 1 month. I add powdered eggs, a bit of coffee grounds n good soil with worm castings & chicken manure, cover & leave it for 2-3 months. Then I mix all buckets into a large one with leaves, branches, cardboard n leave it a couple months. By next Spring, its beautiful n ready to use. Paz be with us all 🙏. "Sra lsa"

1:37 used coffee grounds do not have sufficient caffeine to contribute to the plants( its used up in the brewing process)
plants benefit because its a "green" item to decompose and feed nutrients. the same grounds are also added to vermicomposting
Eggshells take a very long time ( and they can still be there the following year)to break down in composting and even longer if you bury them with the plants. better off grinding eggshells to a powder and adding to compost or vermicomposting.

Ha! By October, where I live, can mean snow, and we typically don't plant gardens until May long weekend.
