War Chest Board Game Review

Will and Sara review the board game War Chest from AEG. This strategy, area control game has got some fantastic components and equally elegant gameplay.

Production Value of the video looks and sound great. But for anyone who is actually trying to learn this game when you play a two-player match each player gets four cards whether you deal four cards out randomly to each player or whether you each draft your own four cards by picking. The rule book has a few ways to do this.
Now if you're playing with four people total then each player has to team up with another player. As there can only be two opposing teams. Then each team gets dealt six cards and each player controls three on each team. The rule book specifies how to actually go about choosing these cards or dealing them in more detail.
And the Royal coin really only comes in handy if you have the royal guard card and unit . Otherwise all this coin lets you do is recruit gain initiative or pass.
If you have the royal guard unit then the royal guard coin lets you move that unit

Besides all the other rules that you got wrong which are mentioned in the other comments, you also have to discard tokens face down to recruit, take initiative or pass. This is a very important rule because it adds a lot to higher levels of play where you have to debate giving someone information on how many tokens of whichever type you have played or just going fast for whatever plays you have planned out. Otherwise great production quality.

Thanks for the video! One correction: the Royal coin is NOT a "wild": it can only be used to perform face-down actions (you mentioned this at 3:18).

Great review, just a correction, on a two player game you draft 4 cards, not three.

Great review. One note, the two-player game allows you to have four units in front of you (you show only three in the review). It's in the four-player game where you would each get three units.
