I liked this game when I first played it and then I forgot about it for a while. I was interested in trying Undaunted, but the real-life war theme turned me off, so I was pleased to find that War Chest is mechanically similar to Undaunted and it got me playing War Chest again. Because it looks like a classic abstract, I always expect it to play more like a symmetric abstract strategy w/ perfect information so when I come back to it, the randomness of the bag and asymmetric unit selection throws me off for a little bit, but it's still fun once I get over its abstract strategy look.

I love this game and seeing it get some love. Feels very underrated by most. After I played it I couldn't help but imagine ideas for my own units and bought a second copy of the game so I would have chips and cards backs to use when making them. Currently working on trying to make a solo/coop campaign for this game where you play 6 scenarios against a game AI, advancing and gaining new units you can sub in and out of your army each chapter!

This game is just goated. I've played it online well over 1000 times and it's my favorite of all time + it's getting a third expansion!

War Chest is excellent. I have the core game and both expansions and look to getting the new planned expansion when it releases as well!
