I didn’t read Sauron’s tear being shed for Celebrimbor, it seemed more to me his reaction to Celebrimbors dying words. He sees himself as powerful, he has aspirations of being greater than Morgoth. Then Celebrimbor, even though Sauron is torturing him, expresses the relief that will come for him when he dies and calls him shadow, prisoner and mockingly “the lord of the rings” and it gets to him. Because for all his effort to bind middle earth he has also bound himself and is dependent on the power of the rings. I’m really glad that they gave Celebrimbor those last moments to say that.

Sauron really comes off as an abusive, gaslighting ex who shows up to give his victim one more chance and does not take it well when she rejects him. Sauron, honey, maybe you shouldn't have ordered the razing of Eregion right before you made your pitch.

I was so upset at Adar being killed off. I guess he had to be, but (to my horror), for some reason I ended up loving this made-up character!

The epic intro with King Durin and the Balrog, the dialogue between Celebrimbor and Annatar/Sauron before he killed him, Adar's transformation, offer and death and even the obvious reveal of Gandalf at the end with the catchy tune which he and ol' Tom sang is what made me enjoy the last episode of season 2, no matter what people say I enjoy the show and can't wait for season 3!

Sauron had Adar killed in the same way he was killed by Adar in the 1st episode of season 2

In the beginning I wasn’t expecting Gandalf either but last week I was watching the hobbit’s movies and at some point Galadriel asks him: “Why the Halfling tho ?” And he goes on about how he’s very fond of haflings, and it can surprise you how good they are.
Then I thought this must come from his past and he feels like this thanks to the Harfoots

8:59 No. Númenóreans didn’t help defeat Morgoths forces in the First Age. The Edain, yes they helped fight Morgoth in the first age but they weren’t Númenóreans because Numenor did not even exist yet.

I assume Adar was meant to be either Morwë or Nurwë, one of the original leaders of the Avari elves who refused the call to Valinor.

Olorín (Gandalf) convinced both Curumo (Saruman) and Alatar (one of the blue wizards) to venture to Middle Earth. Given the story with the cult following the dark wizard, him being Alatar would make more sense.

I really liked this season. Going off some impressions online, I think this show is mostly aimed at people like me - those who love the movies and have a passing interest in the Tolkien world, but don't care too much about the accuracies to the lore.

Maybe Saruman will be introduced in the next season or so, helping Gandalf defeat the Dark Wizard (aka blue wizark gone bad) therefor starting this relation of trust and common interest with Gandalf
