Mastorochoria are called twenty-seven settlements at the northeastern end of the prefecture of Ioannina, northeast of Konitsa. The villages that make up Mastorochoria are mainly located in the basin formed by the river Sarantaporos and is surrounded by the mountain range of Grammos, Smolikas, Tymfi (Gamila) and Nemertsika (Dousko).
The local craftsmen, also known as "bells", built mainly stone bridges, churches, public buildings, residences throughout Greece, the Balkans and some distant countries such as Ethiopia, Iran and America. They worked in groups, the so-called "groups" or "bouloukia", mostly far from their homeland, absent for many months each year from their villages.

It is located right at the entrance of the ravine of Aoos River, which it bridges. It is a one-arched stone bridge that is distinguished for its huge arch. Specifically, the opening of the arc is estimated at 35.60 m. while its height reaches 19.25 m.
