Yes taking your own life leaves people you left devastated. It may be selfish but if you don't have debilitating depression you will never understand. One of my best oldest friends kept calling me one day. I didn't have my phone with me. If left it at home. By the time I got home I'd missed a dozen calls. I called him back over and over. It was too late. Hed hung himself. The fucking guilt i carry is so heavy sometimes is crushing. I have depression that is resistant to medication plus a borderline personality disorder and I've been clean 10 years from heroin. He had a situation he was facing and i could have helped him with. Just tragedy all the way around. I hop Chris Cornell Chester Bennington and My friend Kenny have found the Peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️ they deserved. I love you, Kenny. You are 3 missed

As someone who has and still deals with IT, it takes a toll...every day. It's hard to talk about it, which is why a lot of people keep it inside. It sucks. In no way should he be considered a coward...that is disgusting. He didn't receive the support that he could have prior to his event....unfortunately, like Corey said, you don't know the pain unless you've been there. All I can say is please talk...try to talk to at least your close people. It's hard...but damn..gotta do it...For anyone else that sees this comment, know that there is someone that loves you...that cares for you....Please, do not feel helpless..

I met Chester once randomly in la in... like... uh.. fuck i forgot exactly but it was like 2014 2015 something like that.. not important.. anyway.. he was a great guy, i didnt know who he was bcs i wasnt into lp at the time but when i heard he died i had a flashback to when my grandfather died and my gf broke up with me... same day both happend and... i cried my fuckin eyes out man.. i locked myself in my room listening to ironically enough slipknot... and i eventually moved on but for 2 years i made 4 attempts to end it all.. so i do know what its like to be in his shoes bcs there was no fix all to it

I used to believe suicide was a cowards way out. After my sister od’d on H and my step son ended it and depression set in and being introduced to what real pain and sorrow feel like, I no longer believe such nonsense. It’s a foolish assumption to peg victims of suicide as cowards. Now I seek to make the world around me more aware. That intense pain is all around us. And people cover it well until suddenly they’re no longer with us. There is a way out. I wish my step son could have known that. 😢

sometimes it's not as simple as meds and therapy, there isn't enough amount of meds and therapy that can take away memories of pain and suffering that last you a lifetime.
