I don't particularly care for TikTok, but I wouldn't say it's the worst website out there. Not when places like Twitter, 4chan, and the Dark Web just in general exist.

I read an article for school the other day about just how bad Tik Tok is for you, and I was surprised to see how much horrendous behaviors they’re taking on. I agree with the sentiment of “anything can be good in moderation, ” and “too much of a good thing can be bad, ” but another issue that I’ve seen brought to my attention, is that a lot of younger people, of which is a large portion of Tik Tok’s userbase, have issues with limiting themselves to have those healthy moderate doses. On top of that, just like what what you brought up Maaz, something about it makes it harder for some people to function as normal human beings, and I think that is a glaring red flag that shouldn’t be ignored.

You both made some good points, and while it felt a bit surreal that the two of you switched sides... I'm going to agree with Maaz.

Mostly because while Twitter is rather toxic... the type of toxicity that happens on TicTok makes me never want to use it ever out of fear. Yes there are some cute, funny, and interesting things on TicTok... yet the level of angst, rage-bait, and just general negativity (mostly in some of the comment section that get screenshoted) is honestly oof.

If you have TicTok, and you manage to tame the algorithm to better suit your taste then good on ya. Yet regardless I'm just going to keep my distance. 👍

Honestly, the biggest reason I can't do TikTok is the videos loop. I get annoyed when they loop, and I get stressed trying to change before the video ends

You can always tell that most TikTok's aren't scripted and you can tell if they are. NOONE thinks to themselves "hey this is a crazy moment! I'm gonna take a YouTube short!" So all it ends up to be is brain rot+ every youtube trend is copied from TikTok.. it just gets overused and unfunny.

Fun fact, I came to YouTube again because even I was noticing that I couldn't focus on things that I like because I get distracted by TikTok, and I was starting to catch up to my favorite animators
