A more subtle impact of the revelation at the end of TESB is that Luke loses some faith in Obi-Wan. This shakes up his black-&-white worldview from the other side, as well: not only is there some potential for good in Darth Vader, but there is some potential for evil in Obi-Wan. His mentor lied to him about his father's identity and his fate, concealing the truth and setting him up for a gut-wrenching surprise, setting up the trap which Vader sprung on him.
