Finally a timelapse in good quality so you can actually see what's going on in small portions of the canvas.

r/place is such a testament to the power of communities online. Look at just one spot and everytime you rewatch its all new things full of life and character. Truly amazing work of art.

I love how the three main times the void appears, it lasts longer than the last time, likely because people are tired of the constant extra expansion of the space, and begin to give in to the void.

I love how countries actually invade for more room for their flags, and when they get to big for their communities to up keep they shrink it’s like a perfect negative feedback loop where it balances out perfectly to an accurate representation of the size of the community

It warms my heart to see Bionicle represented on the green lattice up to the very end

I think this video alone has enough material, to publish tons of studies over psychology, behavement in groups and society. Wow.

I was one of the r/placestart members, and that struggle in the beginning was REAL. We had so much competition until France helped us out at the end.

Watching Mr. Incredible getting progressively more cursed is definitely a highlight.

The way the white void spreads out from the center at the end, with small white spots appearing all over the map to light up the entire canvas, makes it seem like a blinding explosion.

One of the oldest, yet most active pieces that stood the test of time was the One Piece (Luffy) skeleton (south east of the Canadian flag). Although small, it was constantly given a blue pixel in his eyes (sans reference) but One Piece fans were always there to instantly change it. It’s not talked about much, but it was happening constantly for 4 days straight of people trying to give the skeleton a blue eye, but the fans preventing it. I would know because I gave almost all my pixels to try to give it a blue eye, but it never worked. It was fun to see how fast it would change back though. It would usually on average take 4 seconds.
Also, to everyone replying saying that their were older or as old of projects, everyone knows, I’m just telling my experience from r/place.

I would like to applaud all the people who managed to turn 'Genshin' into 'SexShrek'

I love how some art improved from 2017 and were lucky (or strong) enough to defend their territory, obviously one example is Osu, the first french flag with wine, Mexico also did a good job merging with Italy and doing their own flag, even the void, this time it had a face and personality, and it wasn't just black madness!

To those who weren't there to witness it, it might look like a chaotic, ugly, tacky mess. To those of us who were there, it's one of the most beautiful collaborative art projects we've ever seen.

God as a Canadian I love the fact that the flag is constantly blipping in and out as many people attempt to make it a weed flag, gave me a good laugh

As Turks, we thank those who gifted us the protective hand painting for protecting most flags and arts.🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷 #dontavukdöner

Today it seems like some quirky pixel mess, but the best of us know that this wall of art will be the monumental sight made by many people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The work of art that the whole world have invested in, one way or another. This is the moment of Internet history folks, yet not everyone have figured that out for now.
