People who make works of art in r/place are one thing, but people who ANIMATE in r/place are on a whole other level. If someone griefs an art piece, the community can rebuild it. If someone griefs an animation, they have to start over or the whole thing is ruined.

i contributed and i was is NymN's stream so heres some facts

the white grief in the beginning were from a turkish streamer and his viewers since they were mad n stuff (although r/gunners isn't part of the turks??)
so NymN agreed to let them have their area back as soon as it's finished.
but later the turkish streamer was offline (whilst we finished the loading screen), and so we continued doing the animation.

the brown outline is intentional because it was part of the GIF that NymN used (which was sent by a viewer in the chat.)

there was a small minecraft loading screen already in south africa's flag but it later got removed from the flag

at 0:11 you can see we finished it as fast as possible because we thought this russian streamer making art would grief our animation, altough NymN got sent a clip of the russian streamer saying "(translated) Don't touch minecraft, Don't."

a bit unrelated, but while this was happening you can see the area area the left of the minecraft area turning into something before it gets taken over by void. that was the rhythm heaven community trying to take back what a streamer stole, the pink you see forming is the little “go for a perfect” P symbol from the games
we eventually did relocate and ally with r/earthbound though so we got our happy ending… glad this project did too
