I've really been trying to use my power stations around the house more lately, no more closet sitting haha. For example, I have been using a 2000wh power station to run my full size fridge for over a week now and it's never hit 0%. My rigid panels keep it full over the day and then after running overnight without the sun, it's about 65%, then the solar starts bringing it back up.

It's been awesome to see all that power come from the sun and not pay for it :) I try my hardest not to use wall power as much as possible now since I have a larger array outside. Nice video dude, enjoyed it.

It’s kinda funny but I made a personal challenge to myself, to see if I could get our electric bill below $50 for just one month. We’re using mostly Ipads instead of the 60” TV, using our power stations for recharging our phones and Ipads, powering USB fans etc. I have no idea why I’m doing this lol

Great advice, Ive! I got a 4x Delta Pro setup connected to 2kW (temporary!) solar. I do my laundry and run my dishwasher during solar hours. This way I use solar energy to do those tasks. Eventually I want to charge my Tesla with it, but that will be when the full 6kW array is built out permanently on the barn roof!

Context: I've been messing around with electricity for a LONG time; I had a string of batteries and light bulbs I'd taped together on the living room floor when I was 4-5 that was so long I had to crawl from one end to the other.
Good tips. Conservation (e.g. turning things off) is key, as is finding low-power devices.
So...for me, power stations are not as much a part of my daily life YET as they are for you. My first setup was an AGM battery I charged from solar, and used to run a lamp on camping trips, and later a thermoelectric cooler. My first actual power station was a little Suaoki S270, which still gets a lot of use for its 4 USB outlets. It couldn't run the cooler for very long, so I got the Rockpals 540WH model.
It's amazing how much you can do with USB devices, and I use more and more of these since I bought a USB-charged razor some years ago (beats the stuffing out of my old Norelco). Now my alarm clock, razor, toothbrush, several flashlights, a couple of LED clamp-lights, my wife's kitchen grinder (for coffee, seeds, nuts, etc), two lighters, UV-5R (radio) charger, battery chargers, and a couple of other things are all USB-charged, which means during the week I plug them into the Suaoki or WattNoFun for charging, then on the weekend the power boxes go on one of the two panels I have out. A Rockpals 540WH power station lives in the bathroom, to power a heater I use when taking a shower, although lately I've been using the wall to keep the station full with a nuclear-armed nation currently at war. The reason I have other stations is for emergency backups; I'd bring them out in the event of a major outage, otherwise they live in Faraday cans.

I use mine daily. Transfer switch, 400 watts solar panels and 200ah battery bank. I run the lights in 3 rooms and my tv. Love me some solar!

I cycle mine frequently one after another during frequent power outages (two per month on average) and I always have a USB fan running off one of them. When it gets down to about 15 to 20 % I plug the next one in to the fan and recharge back up to about 80%. So about every five to six weeks each one get`s cycled once.

Another good tip on a smaller scale perhaps for people who don't have lots of solar space, but have to drive a lot for a job - take a power station with you in the car and charge it. Maybe not the best idea if you are out of the car for a longer period for appointments before driving again due to cold in Winter or hot in Summer, but it's a good way to get some power from gas energy you have to use anyway.

Great video. You are 100% right about portable power supplies. I have two at home...behind our chairs connected all the time but not been used. Need to change that habit.

Thanks Abe for some great tips. I like to hoard my power in case of a bad weather, but I don’t really check the weather to see if it’s a threat to my power so I’m going to start using it like you said.

Thanks for the great video. Are all these tips your giving referring to those who are totally off the grid and no electricity? Just curious. Thanks

All of your electronics… do you have them on DC power to the batteries directly - or use AC & DC transformer on each device?

Great to know about the panels, propping them up with various things and not fretting about the minimum amount of wattage lost in them not being perfectly tilted. Does your family keep things unplugged from the wall when not in use? Ie clocks, range, microwave, coffee pot, lamps, etc… that is IF y’all even use your electrical outlets at all??

Question: Hey Ive,
Would you buy a no name brand solar generator?
Also if I buy one from your site will you get some of the proceed? Thanks

Out of curiosity, with so many panels and power stations, what's your electric bill like... OR does it effect your bill at all?
