How to Get the Most Power Out of Your Solar Panels

To get the most power out of your solar panels you need to optimize them for the correct tilt and angle. By having the proper orientation of your panels you will increase your solar panel output. Most solar generators have fairly small solar pannels so if you want to maximize your solar generator you need to maximize the amount of power your solar panels are putting out. I'll show you how to do that in this video.

At your final setting, the panels are only positioned once per day. e.g. the can NOT casting a shadow . You have the vertical tilt correct so that the sun does not cast a shadow towards either the top or bottom of the can...but in an hour, as he sun tracks across the sky, their will be a shadow to one side of the can, requiring you to rotate it every hour along it horizontal axis to track the sun...a lazy susan type set up is good for that, but you have to run out every hour to correct the offset. The can will cast a shadow every other time except the one time when the sun and the and care perpendicular to each...think sun dial. the only time it does not cast a shadow is at high noon. it's like that with the can, in that the can is a sun dial, and as the sun tracks across the sky, the can will develop a shadow left to right.

In a snowy environment like you show here (especially as the sun is low in winter) if you have the option, you might get a few more Watts by ensuring the surroundings are reflective snow and not absorbing trees and other dark materials.
Alternatively some reflective panels (e.g. covered in aluminium foil) could gain you up to about 18%.
