Saving someones life, without harming another, is never unethical to me. A brain dead patient, who signed off his organs beforehand would get to save somebody's life, the field of medicine would leap forward yet again. History would be made, on one of the rare occasions to better humanity. We have enough lifes taken nowadays.

There is a video of WW1 scientists removing a dogs head and keeping it alive. The dog was even still responsive to things like dog treats and being petted.

I heard that this was reportedly going to take place back in 2016, and was very interested in hearing about the results. However, over the years, all I’ve seen the neurosurgeon (Sergio Canavero) do is prattle on about how it’s “happening soon” and how he’d apparently already performed the procedure successfully with no evidence. I realize now that he’s probably just blowing smoke for the sake of publicity. Hopefully someday, this procedure will become feasible and be used to improve the lives of many.

sounds very cool, tho its worth considering how the brain responds to an unfamiliar body, like how the blood type of a donor needs to match the recipient.

Just fusing the spines won't work will need a neralink and a spinal bridge and even then good luck getting them to wake up

I think they did that with a monkey some time ago, but it wasn't able to move or so I don't really remember ^^'
