Basu contacted me and offered to sponsor a review of their
eAlarm +. Having seen one like this in the past, I thought yeah, let's see what's new about this one. Pretty cool little item and for only $16, it's really worth checking out.

It would be better to have the unit clipped to your body instead of just the removable pin. That way if someone was trying to kidnap you they couldn't just take the alarm from your hand and throw it, they would first have to find out where the sound is coming from.

I actually have this eAlarm, but I have it set up much different/smarter way than you showed!!! I put the carabiner not through the removeable cap/trigger like you showed(4:35). Because if you do that then your pulling off the eAslerm itself to activate the sound, leaving only the cap/trigger attached to your carabiner/belt loop. Once the alarm itself is pulled off it's no longer attached to your carabiner/belt and you can easily then drop the alarm itself and the sound would no longer be directly attached you anymore!!! What I actually did was put the carabiner through the lanyard hole that's part of the eAlarm itself(plastic body) then clip the carabiner to my belt loop. I then used paracord to tie a Chris Reeve style lanyard to the removeable cap/trigger. Then to set off the eAlarm all I had to do was then pull the lanyard which removes the cap/trigger, leaving the eAlarm clipped to my carabiner/belt loop. With the eAlarm going off still clipped to my carabiner/belt loop I can easily move around without having to hold the eAlarm in my hands or worrying about dropping it!!!

I use something similar on my alarm is attached to door and then I have a hook on the other side to loop the cable to so when someone opens the door it goes off

I'd think put the carabiner through the opposite hole and the alarm stays with the victim and can't be thrown or stomped.

The camera probably doesn’t do the sound justice but in the video is just doesn’t sound very loud :(

You should clip the alarm it's self to your belt loop not just the cap piece. That way, you can't lose the alarm piece.

My fear in using this is hurting my own hearing. I have chronic tinnitus and it gets worse after hearing a loud noise. My hearing is getting slightly worse over the years too. I've always been confused by the decibel safety of these since I think hearing loss can start over 80 and this is said to be as high as 130 decibels. I think it needs to be prolonged exposure but I'm not sure if it varies from person to person what their ears can handle. Anyone feel this alarm gave them hearing issues after listening to it?

Its very good but I think along with this you must have pepper spray ( cause there are cra y criminals that dont give a dMn if the alarm goes off, they will continue the harming...

I really like this but I think I will attach it from the opposite end and pull the cap of, that way the alarm stays on me and there is no way I wold drop it if I had to get away.
