Ingredients:
110g salted butter, softened
60g granulated sugar
165g plain flour
130g icing sugar
2-3tbsp milk or water
Black and red icing pens

1) Preheat your oven to 170°C/ Gas Mark 3½/ 150°C (fan).

2) Add the butter, granulated sugar and plain flour to a bowl and mix until crumbly.

3) Flour a clean work surface.

4) Roll the dough into a ball and place it on your floured surface.

5) Flour a rolling pin and roll the dough out to 0.5cm thick.

6) Cut out heart shapes with a cookie cuttee and remove the excess pastry to use again.

7) Slice the hearts in half and gently curve the bottom of them to make tails.

8) Transfer the cookies to a cookie sheet.

9) Bake for 8-9 minutes and let them cool.

10) For the icing, mix together the icing sugar and milk or water until thick and smooth.

11) Pour the icing into a piping bag.

12) Draw a border or the icing and then fill it in on the cookies.

13) Smooth it out with a toothpick to fill any gaps.

14) Make eyes, cheeks and a mouth with icing pens.

15) Enjoy!
