Why You Should Clean Your Laptop Cooling Fan

In this video, I show you the ridiculous amount of dust that was accumulated around an old laptop cooling fan! I noticed that the area around the fan looked really dirty, so i decided to remove it. I film the process so I can show you what I found! Having a significant amount of dust around the cooling fan will affect it's performance and it's ability to cool a laptop properly. With that being said, it is super important to clean your laptop's cooling fan on a regular basis.

My bro was getting 10-20 fps because of super heating like 80 degree Celsius. Then he cleaned up his heatsink and remove a bunch of this gross things. Now temp is normal and overall performance is better than before!

A tip for new laptop owners, buy a compressed air duster to blow out the dust regularly. I have been doing this every month with my laptop, this will prevent the dust from forming to the point you have to remove the case. It is not perfect but good enough if you are afraid to remove the screws. Also, don't be afraid to spend some money on good compressed air, cheap compressed air might not have enough air pressure. Remember to watch the video on to how properly use compressed air on your laptop.

you should also clean your cooling fan because the CPU might stop working, and one of the worst things is that the laptop battery powers the fan even more just to cool the laptop, so that is why the battery dies faster if you had never cleaned the fan.

Guys I finally mustered up the courage to do this on my own and my god.
The cpu temps went from 95 YES 95 to 75-80 while gaming.
Conclusion: Clean your fans

I recently did this with my 9 year old laptop for the first time and it feels so good to see the air ventilation flowing freely again. I noticed it getting extremely hot recently and the fan always running on full power even on low CPU usage. I was initially worried about breaking something when opening it, but looked up tutorials for my laptop model on how to open it and managed to clean out the dust that accumulated over the years. Now it stays much cooler and the fan stays on low speed. Opening your laptop and cleaning out the dust is easier than you think, just be careful to not damage anything.

I took my laptop apart and it was full of dust but really fun to take apart and clean, got a bit obsessed and cleaned the ones from my mom and dad too, all of them were successful 👍

I just cleaned mine after never cleaning it for like 4 years. Runs much cooler. Used to hit 78° while gaming and now it barely ever touches 70°

Very helpful tip 👍🏼 I can definitely say that just by cleaning the fans, the temps reduce by 12-15 °C !!

I have MSI laptop (GE72MVR 7RG Apache Pro) and I cleaned the fans at home for 2-3 times in 4 years. Now I have, kind of, become an expert in this process 😎 There are 20 screws for external cover and 13 screws for heat sink assembly. And 6 tiny screws for both the fans.
All of these 'screws' take a lot of time, actual cleaning is just a few minutes work.

During the disassembly process, literally feels like a surgeon...lol 😁
For this laptop, it is required to remove the entire heat sink if you want to have 100% fan cleaning and get rid of all the dust. I also replaced the thermal paste which reduced the temps even more.

I had purchased the laptop in 2017. It may need fan replacement (I believe their spin capacity has been degrading and need frequent cleaning) but difficult to find genuine, original parts nowadays...most people sell duplicate parts by labelling as 'original'.

I can tell that my fan is caked in dust, I'm just way too scared to take it apart. I know I'll end up breaking my laptop.
