Don’t know what you all are talking about. I have owned Lexus SUV’s since 2000. They were fantastic. I had an order in for the new 24’ Lexus GX550. After looking at so many videos, I cancelled the order. They took all the luxury out of the thing and it looked like an everyday truck. Just bought a 24’ Genesis GV80. Absolutely love it. It has so much luxury and drives like a dream. I positively made the best move.

For all the people comparing Genesis to Lexus and Acura, here’s the thing to understand.

Genesis models do not share ANY COMPONENTS with their Hyundai counterparts. They are built on their own unique platforms with unique engines for the most part. Thus, they do not target the Japanese luxury cars.

Meanwhile, Lexus has no model except the flagship LS and flagship LC coupes (who nobody buys anyways) that are actually built from the ground up to be luxury models. So in essence, all their cars are just mainstream Toyotas dressed up in nicer clothing. Same applies to Acura.

I think knowing that, you have to set expectations for this car properly since the RX/TX/MDX aren’t really comparable to what Genesis is doing with this car, or their other cars.

I don’t get the Bentley reference other than Bentley being suggested in its styling. It doesn’t drive, perform, or feel like a Bentley. Its interior is nice but it isn’t Bentley grade in the least. This nonsense about Bentley caught on and it’s now one of these things people just repeat from a place of ignorance.

To all the commenters saying Hyundai and Kia are junk, maybe the ones made in the USA are but the South Korean ones are very reliable.

Genesis is doing something right to get people talking, whether it's negative or positive. I always admire the Koreans for taking leaps with design and technology. Making their Japanese counterparts feel like their missing features for the money. If anything, the Koreans are pushing their Japanese rivals to be more competitive. I appreciate them for not making their models look all the same and no parts sharing between their mainstream and luxury models, unlike Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti, and Honda/Acura.

I do want it to corner carve. It’s so beautiful and I’d honestly let go of my msport bmw if I could get a go fast version of this that drove well cus I like the interior more than my bmw. But they won’t bring that fast version they are building for the uae, to North America

Not a fan of the changes. The front end does look more refined on this refresh, but everything else look like a scaled down version of the original. That integrated screen looks atrocious, like an afterthought. I really don't understand the obsession with copying BMW on this trend.

The Bentley interior you speak of isn't as good as it used to be. The material quality while still high is not as high as it used to be. It is, after all, a tarted up Audi which is just a more expensive Volkswagen
