Android 16 is coming VERY soon, MUCH earlier than usual!

This is BIG NEWS. Google has confirmed that Android 16 is due for release in Q2 of 2025. This is months earlier than any release we've had for years. That means we should see the first Android 16 Developer Previews in 2024 — not in early 2025, as we've seen in the past. This is hugely significant for Android fans (and Android developers) and could also change the landscape of when flagship Android phones are released!

I think all this means is we'll get even fewer new features in Android 16. I'd rather them take longer to actually make version numbers matter again.

It never made sense to me that Samsung would release after the holiday when majority of people already spent their end of year bonuses etc. moving launch before or even during the holiday season makes most sense

Seems more like a UI update than a full blown OS upgrade kinda like a certain company tried to do until Google bought them out for 2 Million in 2013.

Considering the public releases of the Android OS is still riddled with bugs even after supposed testing, pushing out a whole OS update 8 months early sounds like Google is just asking to get kicked in the nuts. I'll just continue to reject the updates until they get it right.

I can't imagine how samsung must be feeling right now, this totally kills the "revolutionary" vibes for one ui 7, it'll be overshadowed by a new version of android immediately, that decision to push it to January is going to backfire. 😂
