Operations on Real Numbers | Number System #4 | Class 9 Maths

The basic arithmetic operations for real numbers are addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The basic arithmetic properties are the commutative, associative, and distributive properties. In this video, we will cover:
1. Operation on real number (rational and irrational)
2. Check whether 7 root 5 , 7 / root 5, Root 2 + 21, π − 2 , are irrational numbers or not.
3. Add 2 root 2 + 5 root 3 and root 2 - 3 root 3.
4. Multiply 6 root 5 by 2 root 5 .
5. Divide 8 root 15 by 2 root 3.
6. Simplify the following expressions: (i) (5 + root 7) (2 + root 5) (ii) (5 + root 5) (5 - root 5) (iii) (root 3 + root 7)^2 (iv) (root 11 - root 7) (root 11 + root 7)
7. Rationalise the denominator of 1/ root 2.
8. Rationalise the denominator of 5 /root 3 - root 5.
9. Classify the following as rational or irrational: (i) 2 - root 5 (ii) (3 + root 23) - root 23 (iii) 2 root 7/ 7 root 7. (iv) 1/root 2. (v) 2π
10. Simplify each of the following expressions: (i) (3 + root 3) (2 + root 2) (ii) (3 + root 3) (3 - root 3) (iii) (root 5 + root 2)^2 (iv) (root 5 - root 2) (root 5 + root 2 )
11. Laws of Exponents for Real Numbers
12. Simplify (i) 2^2/3 x 2^1/3 (ii) (1/3^5)^4 (iii) 7^1/5 / 7 ^1/3 (iv) 13^1/5 x 17^1/5
13. Find (i) 9^3/2 (ii) 32^2/5 (iii) 16^13/4 (iv) 125^-1/3
