I am a mic of both Batman and Superman in the whole idea of killing vs non killing. The joker should be given the death penalty but Batman never does nor does anyone else. I would as he would only escape and do it all over again. Wonder Woman gave the women there at there own free will a chance to seek there own justice, and justice they chose was execution.

If you all are going to get so up in arms about this, you should at least know the full story about this.

You see, the idea that the (definitely not) Vietnamese Rebels committed the atrocities to locals helping the French seemed off to me. So I dug a bit. Came across an incident called the My Trach massacre. It mirrors this event almost exactly. Except, one key difference. It was committed by the French against the rebels. The French were the bad guys, doing all those things. Sure, I agree with WW here. What those men did is evil. But on that same note, using a real event (even if it wasn't this specific event, others also fit the bill, except once again the atrocities were carried out by the French or Americans) and then flipping the perpetrators is just disgusting. I want to just agree with WW here (and in Universe I definitely do), but the real life part is just something that cannot be ignored.

If we can empathize with these characters as traumatized women, then surely we can empathize with the real life victims of these crimes, and recognize how this wasn't just men attacking women, but a full scale effort to terrorize and subjugate a civilization for cheap labor and resources. Imagine for a second, if one of the "rebels" had escaped, and lived to tell the tale. What if he made himself out to be the victim? We'd instantly recognize this as a villain trying to manipulate people. Well, what does that make DC in this case?

I love the idea doing it as a period piece. When each superhero emerged as the real-world year that their comic was launched. With DC relaunching, as much as I trust James Gunn's writing to do the themes justice, I'm a little bummed they didn't do something like New Frontier.
