I still have the 4790 with the 1660S. I don’t know why people are buying the latest and greatest cpu. Gameplay is smooth and doesn’t bottleneck the gpu. I love it and I will continue to use the cpu until there is a justified reason why you should buy new. Let your investments go far. Remember.... if it ain’t broken, don’t replace it.

I have this combo, love Make sure u put a new heatsink on the 4790, the stock fan has temps up to 100c, I used a Cryorig H7, and its now its beautifull!!! My build cost me $800.

Dell optiplex for 150 that comes with i7-4790+16gb ddr3 + 500GB HDD, decent psu.
GTX 1080 for 250. Or rtx 2060 super for 300. rx vega 56 for 240.
