Would Bakuchiol be an alternative to Retinol? Heard it’s as effective in combating ageing, but better because it doesn’t irritate the skin i.e. more suitable for those with sensitive skin.

The question is always - who funded the studies?
I agree that retinol may have benefits for the skin, but there are also studies that have shown it to thin the skin, as well as affect our organs.
There were hundreds of studies showing that talc is safe - and we all know how that turned out.
I use retinaldehyde - but definitely with caution, and certainly not daily. ... Blessings

Retin A and another Retin product not as strong, both made my dry painful eyes even dryer and more painful, and I was putting it on other parts of the face, not even near my eyes. I stopped.

It’s helped me. I’ve been using it about once a week for the past 3-4yrs. I have also stayed out of the sun for the most part, for most of my adult life ( even living in Florida use sunscreen underneath my foundation ).I use good skin care too. Look about 15yrs younger than my physical age. Literally no one guesses my age correctly. I also have good family genes. Very thankful. 🙏💖🙏

I started using 3% retinol cream recently. It has made my face break out so badly I feel like I'm 15 again. Its terrible!

Probelm I think retinoids can cause costant inflammation which end up causing more harm than good. Also i wonder if the poor results of some studies depend on the retinoids themselves or lack of proper sun avoidance and sun protecting behaviors among the patients.

I stooped using tretinoin because it was difficult to use regularly without any irritation. After 2/3 weeks it is easy to get a bit burned even if used with caution.

I changed to retinal, very very gentle but now I wonder if it's actually working.

I'd be more wary of energy based devices to use at home than retinoids anywyay.
