Valencia: At least 95 killed as flash floods ravage Spain

The Spanish government has declared three days of mourning after scores of people were killed in flash floods which swept across southeastern Spain.

At least 95 people have died with an unknown number still missing, while rescue efforts have been hampered by blocked roads and damaged phone and power lines.

Forecasters have issued another red alert, warning that the risk of danger was "extreme".

I live in germany where my parents own a campingsite and indoorswimming pool couple years back we had the same kind of floods destroyed almost everything killed multiple people and it keeps happening more and more

In 1957, Valencia flooded entirely, and the river was diverted south of the city, with a 35% capacity increase up to 5000m3 per second. It still failed; go figure. Everything south of Valencia is swamped.

After all, the government is the highest authority and the one who calls the shots.
