Social media has truly transformed our lives. Now it’s no longer a luxury but a necessity. New trends, new reels, new and better platforms which are a lot more faster having multiple in-built features have become an important part of our lives. The structures and methods have changed. Earlier they were a part of our lives to make things simpler for us, to make us efficient. But now they are CONTROLLING US, DICTATING US, and making us ADDICTED

One of the most concerning aspects the video explore is how social media usage releases dopamine, the brain's feel-good neurotransmitter, creating a cycle of addiction and dependency that can have long-term negative effects on our neural pathways and emotional well-being.

From endless scrolling to the pressure of maintaining a curated online persona, the pitfalls of platforms like TikTok are vast and far-reaching.

And it’s not just Tiktok. It’s every social media platform, be it Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat

But fear not, for this video isn't just about highlighting the problems; it's about offering solutions. The video will explore practical strategies and tools to help you regain control over your social media usage and break free from the grips of addiction. Whether it's setting limits on screen time, practicing mindfulness, or cultivating real-life connections.

I don't know why I started crying after watching this video. I was a very bright child since my childhood. I used to love studying science and all other subjects. I decided to get homeschooled in 11th grade. I opted for an online learning platform. But little did I know that was my worst decision. My parents installed a Wifi in my room for my lectures. After some days I installed Instagram on my laptop. I started scrolling Instagram in btw my lecture breaks. Then I started skipping live lectures, thinking that I'd watch recorded ones. My Instagram and YouTube screen time went from half an hour per day to 18 hours per day. I failed my 11th grade and got promoted. I tried millions of times that I'll leave this but could never. My 12th grade started, then I promised myself that I'd study this time and would crack NEET. But my never-ending addiction never ended. I again wasted my entire 12th grade. This time the addiction is so bad that I don't even sleep anymore. My family thinks that I'm studying at night. But all I'm doing is endless scrolling. I hate myself more than ever. I've bought 3-4 courses but wasted all of'em. It's not like I don't have supportive parents. I have some good friends, family members, and other support systems. But I just can't open up to them. It's like I'm ashamed of myself. My brain constantly tells me to stop but I just can't stop physically. I can't hurt my parents. Tomorrow is my chemistry board exam. I've wasted 4 days. It's almost like I'm not even afraid anymore. I've decided that I'll move out next year and will join offline coaching. I really want to change this.

Fun fact is He used that '8% people' thing to engage the audience, No one will want to be in 92%, he is using the same technique that TOXIC social media apps are using, but for USEFUL CONTENT :)

When I was 15(I'm 17 now) I turned off all notifications of my phone - Didn't matter even if I was missing out on important personal messages. To important people - I did mention it and in terms of emergency asked them 'don't hesitate to call'. Just turning off all notifications gave me extreme control on myself and freedom from looking for notifications to find an excuse to use my phone. Now I use my phone when I 'Need' and not when I 'Want'. I'm commenting this because I found some other useful comments to make me more efficient and I wanted to do the same for others. Hope this helps. Peace.

I stopped using Instagram and all other Social media apps since 2019, and my life couldn’t have been better . Social media is nothing but an outlet for mindless time wastage.

I watch Youtube because i get valuable information from it and it is a learning based platform❤

Back in those days, people were peaceful and just living their life without teasing others and seeing others not teasing.
But today, it's changed. Almost everyone are in depression due to social medias.

When I initially started the video, I was like wahi ghisi piti baatein, dopmaine in anticipation, short attention span, but I am glad I clicked on this video because you actually went ahead of mostly available information and talked about real and mimetic desires, in today's world its very difficult to differentiate between them. A friend of mine received an award and felicitations and suddenly I also wanted to be that, it was pure mimetic desire, but sadly it took me so much time to understand this. We forget how different lives of two individuals can be, in 30 seconds of reel world we start comparing the results of someone's hard work and dedication with our own life results. I am grateful to you guys. Thanks!
