i have sciatica due to disc bulge, my knee is weak and have pain from buttocks to knee now on my first day of therapy my PT (who already saw my mri and xray) recommends me some stretching - leg raise and figure four stretch but it is giving me pain during exercise. is this normal? he was trying to stretch my leg even higher although there is pain on the knee

even my ortho agreed, i mean he is okay with the exercises he said that if the pain came after, that is the only time i should stop but if the pain is only during the stretching it's fine
