Richard, we wanna see EVERYTHING on this house. Base trim, door panels, mantel, all that good stuff. Don’t leave any content out, trust me. We will watch because we enjoy your work.

A scullery is a room in a house that's used for cleaning and storing dishes, cooking utensils, and other kitchen items. It's usually located next to the kitchen in large, older homes.

Here are some things you might do in a scullery: Wash dishes and cooking utensils, Prepare vegetables for cooking, Boil water for cooking or bathing, Soak and wash clothes, and Iron.

The word "scullery" comes from the French word escuelerie, which was used between the 1300s and 1500s.

A modern day scullery is an area usually off the main kitchen sometimes called a “back kitchen” that is used for cleaning and storage. It’s typically a tucked away or concealed space and for a good reason – it’s purpose is to hide the kitchen mess! It can be as simple as a sink and cabinetry for storage, but in many cases you’ll find what looks like a mini-kitchen complete with an extra dishwasher and other appliances (many times even laundry service for the kitchen and dining linens)

I think the next step is talking about the bidding process. Not so much the cost but understanding BF, converting to stock with extra, calculating waste etc.... Then talking about labor hours (lunch, P/U & D/O, weather) and estimating the time line. I think its puts a fine point on subjects you know a lot about, while talking about a wide scope. Doors, crown, paneling, rough. They are all different but essentially the same which makes the information transcribe-able as long as you are talking out your ideas which you do well. Great project, excited to see it come together.

Man. 10 years in YouTube. I guess I learned how to trim a house from you and few other about 8 years and now I’ve had my own construction business for 3 years. What a project you have here. Glad I stumbled across this video. It would be cool to see how you actually come up with hours for a project this intense.

In the Navy, the scullery was the place on the ship where they washed dishes, pots, pans, etc. The Sailor sent to work that was referred to either as a "Scullery dog" or a "Scullery rat". It was hot, humid and a perfect place to be miserable.

Mostly I'm just glad to see you back! I LOVE watching the super complex stuff you build, all the design aspects, how you build it out. So, yes, to the videos you suggested. But I also find myself searching old videos for your great tips and tricks on the more "basic" sounding stuff you're doing upstairs. Getting good tight miters as you wrap base around a room, etc. You know we all geek out on your content. Let it rip! Excited to see how your work makes the place shine!!

God bless you my friend. Keep making carpentry a place ordinary men can access a living. Your videos help put food on the table.

Historically the skullery was the place the help would wash all the dishes. Nowadays it could be multi-pupose like a butlers pantry, food prep, extra dishwasher etc.

I would actually love to see a video on your bidding process on a job of this scale - Maybe how you work up contracts and what might be included in certain jobs vs. a relatively smaller one?

I am a custom cabinet guy, so naturally I would be interested in seeing videos about cabinets. I am always interested in seeing how other guys are building and designing their cabinetry. Sculleries are not pantries, i dunno what they really are to be honest with you, the handful I have done were all different. Sometimes they have the washer and dryer in them along with a small utilitarian type of kitchen. To me a lot of the houses we do are fancy lake houses and have a sizable mudroom between the garage and kitchen area. The few times I have seen a scullery to me they feel like the same kind of room but off the kitchen no access out to a garage or lake or pool like a mudroom would typically have.

I'm most interested in the "It didn't go as planned but we have to make it work" situations.
I don't want to call it fudging or cheating, but I think you'll get my point.

I've done my fair share of SOS-hinged doors. Highly recommend doing the first one with a scrap door or chunk of wood, I also found making a custom router template that grabs the door made these fairly efficient and reliable.
