I have a similar knife SCHF26 from Schrade and I love that knife and have it as my primary carry knife on my utility belt. It is built the way I expected it to be and does what I want it to do.

If people's only complaint is it doesn't hold an edge. Then you have to wonder can they sharpen a knife? I got a $6 M-tech knife. I needed to use a metal file to reprofile the edge, and now it is razor sharp. Some people can not do that because of lack of study. I watched 6 or 8 video on knife shaping. Richard Blane has several good video on the topic. The file was a little tricky if the final bevel is not even then it is even more difficult. Mabe you can do a video on rough shaping. W /file

My wife has one. It more or less serves the purpose of my Mora and my hatchet rolled into one. Not quite as well as either, but it's a hell of a slab of steel for $40.

When you actually hold one of these in your hands and look at the blade length and thickness it makes you say "Whoa". It's really robust. If they make a longer version they should call it "The Beast".

Excellent review! The fit & finish of this knife are non-issues to me. You get an excellent blade & case for the money, that's the main talking point with this knife. If you want something prettier, then spend 3 or 4 times as much and get one. If I'm in a true survival situation, I want something like this that will take punishment; esthetics will not save your butt.

It was made for men only, not for women! Is very good!

I used mine to baton fire wood. It easily splits 3 inch logs with a few hits.
