We have them in our trucks and they use it as a way to prevent us from getting raises.. for example if I yawn, that's considered distracted driving, they don't say anything until they start hitting you with points.. And that proves everything that they do really don't care, that is there to be used against you

The front part is considered a work place, anything past the back of the curtain is considered a private residence.

Placement of camera is important. It could be argued the camera is a distraction if placed in the middle of the windshield. If a driver suffers with anxiety that camera might trigger it. The driver will check that camera more because they will be worried if some action they did caused an event to be recorded. The parameters/sensitivity level it logs an event at is important. The companies that make these cameras do not intend to make our roads safer. They are capitalizing on fear and telling companies this tool is a way to reduce or transfer liability. Some drivers go decades without a chargeable accident. They are doing it right. I have driven with a camera and it makes me no never mind.

Trucking companies tell you that having a bad relationship with someone at home can be an emotional driving distraction. The driver facing cameras are like having a bad distance relationship with someone who is judging your every move for reasons to fire you and is a complete driving distraction.

we have the litx cameras in our vehicles.. I find myself running yellow lights etc. because if i stopped i would get a hard stop.

Right on cameras- survey this..percentage of drivers who own or have mortgage on their own house. Of course, most drivers dont want surveillance equiptment in their truck. We generally cant use appropriate words to describe them.

I think driver facing cameras are used against the drivers it only benefits the company with lower insurance rates

This is a simple deal breaker. Fire your trucking company. Give them no notice.just state I didn't sign up for this it violates my moral standards. Period 😅😅

The cameras are there to hang you, I've been working with them for about 3 years. And I have yet to see one instant where the cameras actually help the driver. They are there so they could fire you without reason. Blame an accident on you. Or make you quit.

I'm a permanent engine driver for my fire department, and a driver facing camera was just installed on my unit. We were told by Headquarters, that this is to cut down on distracted driving. Big brother is everywhere now. 🤔

Fedex forced me out after 25 years because I refused to sign the consent form permitting driver facing cameras, I just wish more drivers would refuse consent, then they would have to back off

Thanks Mark, I am against driver facing cameras 100% but agree with front facing cameras. I think companies slowly weaponize driver facing cameras and usually it is somebody behind a desk that has never driven before that will coach you which is ridiculous and to a degree an invasion of privacy.
