The Ferry Boat Inn in England is about 5 minutes drive from me. Is it the oldest? Probably the oldest building still used as a pub, AD 560. But was it continuous? For example, if I stuck a bar in the middle of Avebury, would that make it the oldest? Also, I know the Fighting Cocks in St Albans well, and just a few hundred yards from there is the Six Bells. Now that was built on the site of a Roman Inn, some of which is incorporated in the current building, does that make it the oldest? I suppose it depends on how careful you read the wording of the claim? Maybe Sean's bar is the oldest continuous pub, possibly?

Once this whole lockdown thing is over, I'll drive over to Athlone and have a drink in there. Never knew this is the oldes pub. I was led to believe it was The Brazen Head right here in Dublin.
