The moment when Luis Diaz kissed Diáre on his head was very special to me. The love, the empathy and warmth he showed with this little and yet so big gesture really got me, made me swallow hard and sent the tears rolling.
With all the other wonderful and moving moments in this video, this little scene stuck out to me because it symbolizes a lot and underlines what Klopp said before about football not being the most important thing in life, but that it can be important at times. I must admit that I am not the biggest fan of modern football anymore. The crazy commercialisation, the absurd salaries, the obscene transfer fees, the ticket prices etc. A young player in his early twenties earning as much per week as most of his hard working fans don't make in years. That Investors from Russia, Saudi-Arabia or America spill their billions into a European sport culture that was once created by the working class and should belong to the ordinary people.
All these thoughts are instantly blown away when I see Luis Diaz kissing Diáre's head which certainly meant the world to that brave little man at that moment. This is what empathy and humanity is about. And with all the big money and crazy hype around modern top class football, there are still people in this business who do have a beautiful heart and soul and can show this in a true and authentic way.
